Link Relationship Plugin for WordPress

June 12, 2004

One thing I’ve missed with WordPress is having nicely defined Link relationships between posts. All it takes is a little <link rel="next" title="" href="" /> or <link rel="prev" title="" href="" />.

Here’s a Link rel Plugin for WordPress. Still version 0.1, so don’t come after me if it doesn’t work properly yet. I’m still testing, and adding in various other relationships beyond just next and prev… ;)

Instructions

It works like other plugins – unzip the file, store it in your /wp-content/plugins directory, then activate through your admin area.

Apparently others have been wanting this as well, right Membranophist?

Admittedly, I’m a bit of a link-o-holic, so this was something I wanted to get done right away.

Supports ‘next’, ‘prev’, ‘first’ and ‘last’. I still need ‘up’, but I take my time :-)

Anne — I should have known you’d have figured that one out already. Too bad it doesn’t show up in Google, or in the wiki, and I’d have saved myself 15 minutes!!

Many thanks, Derek! Being a PHP idiot, I particularly appreciate the simple installation. This is the kind of thing I was thinking of.

Thanks for this, but I can’t seem to get it to work. I installed the plugin and activated it then added the above code into the head of the index.php page, but I see nothing. :(

What have I done wrong?

Please email me. Thanks!
