Juggling Musical Batons

May 17, 2005

Ouch. I’m getting pelted by musical batons. I’d better pass it on before any more come my way…

Total volume of music on my computer

4.46 GB (on my laptop)

The last CD I bought

We Were Born In A Flame by Sam Roberts

Song playing right now

Land Down Under, Men at Work

Five songs I listen to a lot, or that mean a lot to me

  • (3) The Magic Number, De La Soul
  • A Penny More by the Skydiggers
  • Joshua Giraffe, by Raffi
  • In Your Eyes, Peter Gabriel
  • Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town by Pearl Jam

Five songs I’m happy I rediscovered while doing this

(I added this section as a bonus so don’t feel obliged to include it)

  • One Night in Bangkok, Murray Head
  • 867-5309 (Jenny), Tommy Tutone
  • Footloose, Kenny Loggins
  • Princes of the Universe, Queen
  • Run run away, Slade

Five people to whom I'm passing the baton

Mike Papageorge
Christian Watson
Jonathan Snook
Andrew Krespanis
Paul Bellows

“…I got it! I got it! I got your number on the wall!”

Reminds me of lip-synching when I was a kid in camp. I used to do that song all the time at the camp talent show.

Ah, memories…

The crème de la crème of the chess world in a show with everything but Yul Brynner…

It pleases me to know you are a fellow sucker for ’80s pop.

The Skydiggers! Sigh…. Oh how I love the Skydiggers! I will not give you a penny more than you deserve… Pure poetry. Now if I had a penny for every time I’ve seen them live….

There was this song Footloose, but there was also a great single I Need A Hero performed by the band Footloose. Ah, the good old days… *sigh*

“See(eeee) chamelion, lying there in the sun…” — Slade, fantastic selection.

Do you think you’d be related to any Bleeks’ in Ireland. It’s a very rare name. The rest of the Bleeks’ are here in Ontario.
