CSS Background Images: Naughty or Nice?

December 19, 2005

Just in time for the holiday season – I’m honoured to be able to contribute to Drew McLellan’s 24ways.org with my article: CSS Background Images: Naughty or Nice?

Thanks to Drew and all the other authors for putting together a great resource so far!

Nice: festive :) This is exactly the sort of article I think 24 ways has been very good at: small, focused pieces, that look at specific, real-life issues, and see how they’re dealt with by standards-based development. Really puts flesh on the bones, and reminds us that, although everyone likes blogging about supposedly new, supposedly exciting methods, standards-based development is, and should be, maturing into something stable.

I love your articles and web page design, but where is the search? I know you have tons of great information but I can’t seem to find it. Can you help out those of us who want “more” by giving us a little search box somewhere? ;-) Thanks!

Hi Derek,

I’m glad to see you’re blogging again.

I really enjoyed your article on 24ways, but I think I enjoyed some of the comments even more. From them, it was clear that you aren’t claiming to have all the answers, and that in some circumstances, there’s some grey area. I really appreciate your interest in finding out what other people’s viewpoints are, instead of shooting them down as simply being wrong or misguided. (Is it a Canadian thing?)

Looking forward to your next post,

Kevin.
